Algorithmic Series

Each print of The Puzzle series has a different composition, uses different colours and has a unique pattern of paint strokes. This is achieved by using a unique seed number for each print which leads to a unique random pattern.

Most Fegarra artwork places paint strokes randomly. This is also the case for this Algorithmic Series, but in addition colours and parts of the composition are also randomly determined. This innovative approach creates art prints that share a common theme, yet each has a unique identity. The result is a harmonious blend of predictability and spontaneity, ensuring that every print is a distinctive work of art.

The Puzzle is a series of abstract works inspired by Jackson Pollock’s iconic drip painting technique. The series is a vibrant symphony of color and form reflecting the spontaneous energy of drip painting. Our digital Impasto technique has undergone a major upgrade that enables the exploration of new textures and compositions. This first result is a stunning collection of art that bridges the gap between traditional expression and contemporary technology.

Both paintings have a strong directional illumination – reminiscent of chiaroscuro of classic paintings. The impasto strokes further enhance the impact of the illumination, adding incredible detail and giving the work a sculptural quality. The thickly applied paint flows and follows the composition, gleaming in the light, with small shadows casted by the brush imprints and around paint edges. Contrasting the strong illumination and detailed paint texture is a simple and abstract composition. Just a few lines are used to define the figures and the setting.

Fegarra fine art is unique as it is created with an exclusive digital technique. The process emulates impasto painting technique with its thick application of paint and the imprints of the brush or painting knife strokes.

Fegarra impasto technique is developed in-house and can capture delicate gradients in lighting using thick paint strokes. The viewer can appreciate fine impasto detail close-by while from a distance the subtle interplay of light is captured.
